Know Future temporarily disabled ROADSIDE GEOLOGY - SIMMS MOUNTAIN FAULT

Looks like I need to replace clue #3. I will report back here when this cache is up again. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.

Know Future found Boulder Brook

Couldn't resist a trip to one of my most favorite parks on this unseasonably warm day. Boulder Brook is certainly the right name for this creek -- please do watch your step out here. TNSL -- left Mozarkite. Thanks for placing another cache in this beautiful park.

Know Future found Fort Benton

What a great cache! I love it when geocaching takes me to a significant, but hard to find, historical site like this one. I'm glad the Wayne County Historical Society purchased the fort so it will be preserved. It's also interesting to note that there are a few Union soldier grave markers in the nearby Patterson Cemetery (37.188365, -90.553497), but no Confederate markers. Took a compass, left another compass. Thanks for placing this one.

Know Future found Dead 'Federate Cache

N 37° 46.157 W 090° 25.271

This is the grave marker of Captain Jasper Newton Burks, Company E, 2nd Missouri Infantry, CSA. It is in the Knights of Pythias cemetery near Farmington, Missouri. There is no date of birth or death on the marker. I can't find any information about Burks or his company.

I searched many cemeteries in St. Francois county before finding this marker. There are union soldiers buried in every old cemetery around here, but this is the first confederate that I've seen. I guess that means this area was mostly pro-union?

I really enjoyed this hunt. Now I'm in the habit of stopping at old cemeteries and hunting for CSA graves - I'll probably keep doing it just for fun.

Know Future found Schoolteacher Heritage

Funny the things you'll find on country roads. The tin is in poor shape and the logsheet is water soaked, so I didn't try to pull it out and sign it. Verification is in the mail. Thanks!
